Further and Higher Education
Teaching in college and university classrooms encourages the debate and discussion of contrasting views. Consequently, disagreement and conflict is unavoidable, yet educators often find they lack the training required to handle conflict confidently and safely. CRESST can help with this.
Our training
CRESST offers college and university educators strategies for:
- Reducing potential harm in the classroom thereby increasing student wellbeing and retention
- Increasing educators’ confidence and the skills required to handle difficult conversations
- De-escalating conflict in the classroom, especially seminars, workshops and tutorials that are discussion based
- Ensuring everyone can speak, be heard and learn safely
- Embracing conflict in the classroom as an opportunity for creative discussion, critique, evaluation and deep learning of course material.
