Final guidance on RSE curriculum published
The Government has taken the bold and necessary step of requiring all schools to provide relationships education in primary, and relationships and sex education in secondary, the final guidance was published this week.
Carolyn Leary CRESST’s Programme Director said: “We welcome the drive to ensure that young people are taught essential skills in navigating relationships. Conflict is a part of our daily lives and if handled well, can lead to greater tolerance and increased understanding. Young people tell us that learning effective conflict resolution and relationship skills is interesting and relevant to equip them now and for their futures.”
The guidance contains information on what schools should do and sets out the legal duties with which schools must comply when teaching Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education.
